Don’t worry. We are here to help. You might want an initial meeting to establish a working relationship with one of our solicitors, and to get initial advice, before you make any firm decisions. We have years of experience in dealing with all kinds of Family Law matters and will be able to advise and support you.
In order to file for divorce you must be sure that your marriage has broken down permanently. We will find out about your individual circumstances and needs and be able to advise you on options to move forward.
Working out how best to divide property and assets on separation and divorce is a complicated and often difficult process, as every family is different. We will help you work out what there is to be divided and how this should happen, and try to promote agreement wherever possible. If court proceedings are necessary we will give you sensible advice and help you through the legal process.
Whether you are divorcing or separating we can advise you on your rights and entitlement to remain in the house and when, if at all, you should think about moving out
Marriage is looked upon as a partnership of two people with different but equally important roles. Home-making and parenting is just as significant a job as earning. What you need for yourself and children is often an overriding factor but we can help work out what you and your family need and how to achieve the right result.
Violence is never acceptable, and nor is bullying or threats. Verbal abuse can be as damaging as physical abuse and you should never have to put up with it. In certain circumstances it is possible to obtain a Court order to protect you and/or your children. We can advise you on injunctions and we can find help from other professionals for you and your family.
It is always a good idea to have your settlement proposals looked over by a solicitor. All agreements are scrutinised by a Judge and will only be approved as a Court Order if they are deemed to be fair and reasonable. You may be agreeing to something that is not in your best interests or is outside the normal range of Court Orders. You should always ensure that your agreement is approved as a binding Court Order to prevent problems in the future. We can explain this to you and help you finalise your settlement.
We have a facility for seeing clients by appointment in Grays Inn Road, WC2 where we can meet and talk through your case and prepare a case plan that suits your particular circumstances. We will do our best to arrange meeting times convenient to you.
Regrettably, we do not offer legal aid (publicly funded) work. If you are on a low income or in receipt of certain benefits, you may be entitled to free or assisted advice. However, we are unable to calculate your eligibility. If you think that you may qualify, then please contact the Community Legal Service on 0845 345 4345.
