Early Neutral Evaluations

If you are trying to agree the arrangements for your children or your finances with your spouse/ex-partner directly, it is likely that you will be greatly assisted by obtaining an informed, neutral and expert opinion as to likely outcomes were your particular case to be brought before a court. At Family Law Associates we are pleased to offer Early Neutral Evaluations directly to members of the public who are trying to resolve their issues directly, or within mediation.

An Early Neutral Evaluation is a meeting which both parties would attend, and at which both parties would have an opportunity of hearing an independent opinion as to how their particular circumstances would be viewed by a court. The parties can then take away the neutral and joint opinion they have received and use this in their own direct discussions or mediation sessions.

This service does not replace legal advice that one party may obtain on their own and we are unable to advise either party on any particular issue. It does however provide an insight into what outcomes might be achieved in court based on the information provided. As mediators, we are unable to provide a view as to likely outcomes as to do so would interfere with the mediation process. This is a service that works particularly well alongside the mediation process as it allows people the opportunity to receive a neutral and expert opinion, without compromising their mediator’s role.
