Jennifer Granby
Jennifer Granby
Having graduated from Bristol University, Jennifer achieved a Masters Degree in Child Law at Keele University, before undertaking her training contract. She trained with a well-established and prestigious General Practice in the East End of London, gaining experience in conveyancing and civil law as well as in Family and Children cases. Since joining FLA she has been involved with complex financial cohabitation and divorce cases, including some with international components. She is also putting her academic knowledge of Children Law to good practical use within her caseload. She is keen to develop Alternative Dispute Resolution options and advocacy. She is a member of Resolution and an experienced Practitioner.

Melanie Barnes
Melanie Barnes
Melanie was brought up in New Zealand but moved to England where after training and working in the performing arts she completed her law degree and further qualifications at Middlesex University.  Whilst at university, Melanie was awarded the Blackstone Prize and the Breeze and Wyles Prize for gaining the highest marks in her second and third years and was solely responsible for setting up and running the Mooting Society, a club that eventually went on to represent Britain in the Mooting World Championships.  Melanie trained with a firm of solicitors in Finchley where she had day to day responsibility in matters such as professional negligence, contentious probate, breach of contract, general litigation, divorce, pre-nuptial agreements and ancillary relief proceedings.  A keen advocate, Melanie completed her Higher Rights professional training and represented a number of clients at hearings, including a successful claim in the small claims court against a leading telecommunications provider. Melanie has also worked as a comedian on the stand-up circuit and as well as performing in clubs around the country has also performed her own show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Lucy
Lucy Sparks
Lucy studied Social Anthropology at Goldsmiths College, University of London and went on to study law as a postgraduate.  She trained at a general practice in North London where she specialised in family law but also gained experience in conveyancing and commercial property.  Lucy deals with a varied caseload including divorce and related finances, children, and cohabitation matters.  She has a particular interest in children cases, especially those with an international element and has acted for clients in child abduction matters securing a safe return of the child.  Lucy is keen to resolve matters in a non-confrontational manner and enjoys conducting her own advocacy.  She is a member of Resolution.
